Minimal weight aviation headset with durability, comfort and 24 db of passive noise reduction Design Design focus on maximum noise reduction with minimum weight. The boom and earcup mountings are also used as the cord entrances to minimize the number of openings in the earcups. The size and shape of the earcups is optimized for broad-spectrum noise reduction. As a result, even the hard-to-manage low frequency noises are better attenuated. Microphone Boom Unlike some other headset designs, the microphone boom on the Air 3500 mounts to the bottom of the earcup rather than to the side. This assures unobstructed peripheral vision. Quick-Set Pressure Settings Three quick-set headset pressure settings let the user select the comfort/noise attenuation setting based on the amount of aircraft noise and personal comfort requirements. Dual-eccentric tension adjustment knobs allow the user to quickly and easily dial-in the desired setting. No tools are required for adjustment. Comfort The Air 3500 features a comfortable foam-filled headband pad and ear cushions. The headband pad evenly distributes the headset weight, with no pressure points for maximum wearer comfort. The ear cushions combine comfort and light weight with excellent acoustic seal. An outer urethane layer ensures long life. All cushions are field-replaceable. Convenience The microphone boom and microphone assembly may be worn on either side of the head. Users are able to control the volume in each ear with the separate volume controls for each ear. Durability Cadmium-bronze wire and tapered strain reliefs ensure long cord life. Polypropylene insulation over wires and urethane jacket for maximum durability. Shielded wire is used throughout for RFI and EMI protection. The Air 3500 Headset is a passive noise attenuating headset that demonstrates Telex’s commitment to provide the maximum possible hearing protection in noisy aircraft cockpits. The engineering staff at Telex has been able to maximize the amount of hearing protection provided by the Air 3500, while at the same time minimizing weight. The headband has also been carefully designed to assure wearer comfort on long flights. The Air 3500 is available in versions for fixed-wing and helicopter use.

Medium weight aviation headset with amplified, noise-canceling electret microphone(s) Comfort and Fit The Air 3100 features a comfortable foam-filled headband pad and ear cushions. The headband pad evenly distributes the headset weight without pressure points for maximum wearer comfort. The ear cushions combine comfort and light weight with an excellent acoustic seal. An outer urethane layer ensures long life and gel-filled ear cushions are also available. Microphone The boom arm features a sealed ball-and-socket joint and flexible boom for precise microphone placement on any head size. The boom rotates overhead for microphone placement on either side of the head. The microphone cartridge features a noise-cancelling electret element; the cartridge snaps on and off easily for replacement. The microphone amplifier, which is housed in the microphone cartridge, is adjustable through an opening in the microphone assembly. Cordage The microphone cartridge is protected inside the boom arm. Shielded wire throughout the headset protects against RFI and EMI. Strain-reliefs on all cords provide maximum durability. Versions Available The Air 3100L is also available; this headset is a headphone only and therefore does not contain a microphone. Portability The Air 3100 features a unique design that allows it to fold into an extremely compact shape for storage and transport. FAA TSO Approval The Air 3100 headset is approved for aviation use under FAA TSO C57A and C58A. The Air 3100L is approved for aviation use under FAA TSO C57A. The Telex Air3100 is a medium-weight noise-reduction headset with amplified, noise-canceling, electret microphones. The Telex Air3100L is a headphone only and does not have a microphone. They both have a noise reduction rating of 21 dB, and are suitable for use in moderately noisy aircraft. All models feature a unique headband design that distributes ear cushion pressure evenly over the entire ear with no pressure points, unlike conventional designs which apply more pressure on the bottom of the ear than on the top. An added advantage of this design is that the headset folds into an extremely compact shape for storage. The Air3100 headset is approved for aircraft use under FAA TSO’s C57a and C58a. The Air3100L headphone is approved for aircraft use under FAA TSO’s C57a.
